50th Birthday

No!! its not my 50th Birthday... a friend turned 50 and I unwisely volunteered to make the cake. Here are a few photos and some of the day. Her secret (from her) celebration started off with a evening in Gore at a restaurant, then a night at the 100 mile hut including an outback spa, followed by next day (surprise visitors) for breakfast of bacon, eggs, tomato, pancakes, etc!!! Once finished here a walk to Mores Reserve beach for a picnic then a surprise visitor (her daughter arrived). After the walk up the hill, the ladies of Southland were invited to a surprise HIGH afternoon tea at which you had to wear a hat. The evening was following by a potluck tea for southland folk. A very long day.

My Thursday night restaurant meal.... lamb on kumera and red pepper with date and lime relish.

Visit to Queenstown

On Friday night, I was driven to Queenstown where we stayed in a motel, the next day one member of our party flew out at 8am... so the rest of us had the day to EXPLORE. Here are a few photos taken in the Queenstown area.

Yeah Right!!! I wish

Got to sit in this AWESOME car.... couldn't go for a drive though it was raining and the owner was not there. I think it was a Lotus V8. To get in you have to type of put your legs in around the steering wheel then easssse yourself into the seat... its quite snug!! and.... your feet are right beside each other on the peddles.

Yes, I have shifted out of the Cave error and into the Medievil error.... hehehe... On the 1st April (not an April fools joke) I shifted out of flat 5, 157 Crinan Street to my new flat.
The old CAVE!!

Americana

My relatives visited from the North Island with their awesome American car. This was for the Southalnd function "Americana". The cars visited several spots and towns around Southland. On the 26 March 2010 they had to parade around the square. I was invited to ride in the car. It was fantastic the reaction you get from the crowd.
My relatives car.
Someone else's car.... the "STATE TROOPER" - with sirens, lights and all.
