Holiday

Yes, I am getting a holiday so.... have just spent 6 days in Dunedin with a dear friend. Now I am back and catching up on a few tasks that I haven't done for a while.

Sorry no photos in this blog.

May 2010 - Mum Visits

Mum came to visit after being asked to accompany a friend down here. Was lovely to have her here.

This is Henry and Sally Grubb (draft doorstoppers). Made by mum.

During mums visit we celebrated her birthday and mothers day. This is a picture taken at Cabbage Tree.
The end of all visits has to come. Mum and our friend were waved off at the bus depot where Henry the Southland Tuatara is located.

Tramp - Hump Ridge

Well, its been a long time since I did my last blog. Anyway here are a few photos of the tramp that we did back at the end of April. My how the months have past since then. These were of the humpridge tramp that we did. Unfotunately the day wasn't too good so we could get flown to the top hut therefore we were flown to Port Craig from there we went to the viaducts and back.

Here we are with all our packs. Oh by the way there were 7 of us.

Arrived at the helipad to be transported to Port Craig. This is my FIRST Helicopter trip. Was rather exciting. We arrived at the hut and there were really cool decorations on each of the tables. So had to take a picture to replicate when I got home.
After the 2 helicopter loads of people had arrived 5 of us set off to the viaducts.

A bog hole that you had to get around!!!

The sun rise the next day.
Some of the equipment used for the logging back in the day when the track was used.

Around the hut there were all sorts of memorabilia
During our walk out a little fantail flitted here and there for a photo or 4.
Half way at lunch time.
Oh, at this point I think this fish might have died because some of us decided to go swimming!!!

At the end of the track - all our feetThe sunset on the way home at McCracken's Rest.
